| Abstract: For most large organizations, emergency response and crisis management are vitally important functions. Yet, most organizations rely on out-of-date and outmoded paper-based emergency response plans and procedures. This paper looks at electronic tools and systems to assist in emergency response and crisis management. Expert systems are one type of computerized tool for decision-support in emergencies. Expert systems can assist in capturing and preserving knowledge and expertise within an organization and making that knowledge available in real-time. | |||
