Abstract:
While attending the 24th Annual Hazards Research and Applications Workshop sponsored by the Natural Hazards Center of the University of Colorado at Boulder, July, 1999, I participated on a panel entitled "Information Technology for Crisis Management," representing a "local user perspective." This document is a transcribed version of my remarks on that occasion, and includes comments regarding the need for centralized data repositories and local hazards analyses, among other suggestions.
