In observation of the upcoming 35th Annual National EMS Week, May 18-24, the EIIP is pleased to host a 'live chat' presentation and interactive Q&A session on May 14, 2008, beginning at 12:00 Noon Eastern time (please convert to your local time). Our topic will be the American College of Emergency Physicians (ACEP) EMS and Emergency Preparedness program, and its practice resources related to emergency care for bombing victims.

Photo of Valerie LucusOur guest will be Marshall Gardner, EMT-P, Manager of the ACEP EMS Disaster Preparedness program and coordinator for the EMS Week Planning Kit. Mr. Gardner began his EMS career in September of 1986 as an Emergency Medical Technician, and finished paramedic training in 1990. He graduated from the University of North Texas in 2004 with a degree in Emergency Administration and Disaster Planning. During previous employment as a local emergency manager, he worked on three presidentially declared disasters, including Hurricanes Katrina and Rita.
